Since 1971, held every January‑February in Cologne, ISM is, according to the organizer, the undisputed world‑leading fair for the confectionery and snack sector. Organized by Koelnmesse GmbH, the fair will open its doors at Koelnmesse from January 31 — February 3, 2027. The 2026 edition brought together more than 1,500 exhibitor companies from 70 countries and 32,000 industry professionals from 135 countries. ISM presents the entire range of the sector under one roof—from chocolate and chocolate products to confectionery and caramel, from fine bakery goods and biscuits to snack products, from natural sweeteners and trend snacks to breakfast snacks, ice cream and frozen confectionery. From the 2027 edition onward, ISM is undergoing a major transformation: ProSweets Cologne will be renamed ISM Manufacturing and will merge with ISM and ISM Ingredients; raw materials and ingredients, production and packaging technologies, and the final product will all be offered under a single powerful umbrella. The 2027 expectation is more than 1,600 exhibitors and over 37,000 visitors. 87% of exhibitors and 71% of visitors are coming from abroad.
