ECOC (European Conference on Optical Communications), held every year since 1975 in a different European city, is a prestigious platform where academic and industrial developments in the field of fiber optic communications, optical networks and photonics are shared at the most advanced level. The 2026 edition will take place in the Spanish city of Malaga; 5G infrastructure, wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems, data center optical connection solutions and coherent detection technologies are among the fair's prominent topics.
